Welcome to ACUUS 2007 Conference Website

"Underground Space: Expanding the Frontiers",
Athens, 10-13 September 2007

The Associated Research Centers for Urban Underground Space (ACUUS) is an international non-governmental association actively promoting partnerships amongst all actors in the field of planning, management, research and uses of urban underground space.
ACCUS has organized several international events, focused on critical parameters of underground development. The 11th ACUUS Conference will be facilitating technical sessions, exhibitions and several forum discussions where major issues regarding underground development are to be addressed.

It is unanimously believed that the 11th ACUUS Conference was one of the most successful events in the history of the organization, having 220 registered participants from 18 countries around the world, more than 400 attendants and 90 scientific papers. This, altogether with the quality of the papers, the spectrum of ideas and multidisciplinary approaches gave ACUUS a new momentum that can help a lot in our common goal, the promotion of underground space development worldwide.

We must thank all the participants for their active contribution that lead to a very successful conference.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee,

Dimitris Kaliampakos
Associate Prof. NTUA
